The story of Yan8 Cosmetics (incorporating our heritage brand Magic Girl) didnβt begin in a corporate boardroom, but in a family living room in Ukraine.
Founded by husband-and-wife duo Ilya and Svitlana, the brand was born from a pivotal life shift. After successful careers in international trade and Ukrainian business, the birth of their daughter changed their focus. They wanted to build something meaningfulβsomething that reflected their new reality as parents.
The name Magic Girl was a tribute to their newborn daughter. In the early days, our "office" featured a baby playpen right next to the manicure kits. Svitlana, while on maternity leave, began sharing her expertise on nail health with other women. What started as professional recommendations grew into a mission to empower people to care for their nails at home.
The Evolution: Solving the "Gel-Polish Dilemma"
As we grew from a home-based business to retail locations in major shopping centers, we noticed a significant gap in the beauty market. We met countless clients who were moving away from traditional gel systems due to:
